Korean 1 - My Study Plan

10 Steps on How to Start Learning the Korean Language | uBitto %

Hey! My name is Lee Wing Kie (0364251), I'm studying for Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Creative Media, specialization in UI/UX. My interest in the Korean language started after watching a movie called Friendly Rivalry in this year. I really liked a character named Yoo Jie Yi in the movie, and after watching it, I became a fan of the actress Lee Hyeri. Because of her, I wanted to learn Korean and hope that one day I can speak the language and travel to Korea.

This semester, I started Korean 1, where I’ve built a basic foundation in reading, writing, listening and speaking. I believe that after completing this course, I will be able to handle basic conversations in real-life situations, which will help me communicate better when I travel to Korea.

To encourage self-study, I have created my own study plan to continue improving my Korean language skills. I plan to study every week for about 40–45 minutes, preferably on Friday around 4-5pm, to complete all the exercises and review the PowerPoint slides and notes again provided by the lecturer. If I have free time, I’ll also watch some Korean movies to make myself more comfortable with the language. I hope to achieve the module’s learning outcomes and good progress in my Korean by the end of this semester.
